Hi Jor,
When you you get your Delica D5 G with bodykit?
My Delica D5 M . I have drove for only less than 2000km have not try malaysia yet . Once try i give you more comment.
Any way this Delica is wonderful with 170 hp in the padal shift in manual. Is great you must try. But Do put on D when try this don't put on DS You will know what i mean when try. Note don't turn on aircon when try. This give you the kick.

Hey John,
Thanks for the info, yes, mine's with the bodykit and stuffs. So far happy with the ride. Getting 11-12km/L (60% Hwy). hitting the N-S hwy maybe this weekend but abit worried as the engine is still running in. As you know, the interior is huge, ferried 10 adults and 2 kids last weekend, no sweat at all.

Hi Jor
For my Delica may be 6km/l cos i travel short distance .
Have you got your 1000km done if so there will be no problem if you travel @ 110km/h to 130km/h @ lest than 4000 rpm for hours but remember to stop for a break every 2hrs to 3hrs coz engine still not fully run in yet. After 10000km should be good enough. Don't stop engine immediate when you have travel in hours with above 110km/h.When come to rest let engine hold for 30sec to 1 min then turn off engine complete . Just for you info.
Now a day new car are in high tech engine so need not like old days need start for min before startup in the morning just about 30sec then move off less the 2000rpm till the temp. increase back to normal .This can save petrol too.
Great travel i will be traveling next week to Malaysia too. Enjoy you trip.

must admit the paddle shift is really addictive, especially dropping from 6th to 5th to overtake at high speed. The shift in gears is really smooth and the surge in speed great for this size of car.

Hi Jor,
How you feel about the braking system for dELICE .
jor
7th April 2009, 01:06 PM
Honestly with front and rear disc brakes, the stopping power is suffice for normal driving in Singapore. For long distance driving like driving up north, I think it will be more advisable to get those high temp brake pads, better still, upgrade to those aftermarket slotted discs.
I recently got these Brisk premium plugs , can feel the diff immediately, driving off and pickup is more responsive and it claimed to have better consumption too...(still monitoring).

tc77,
I'm also interested in a Delica D:5, whats the price you got your Delica?
Heard C&C may stop selling it.
It looks like a superb long distance cruiser for both driver and passenger with the amount of space it have inside.

Hehheh...Poison start to take effect liao, I also find the speakers abit lacking, basic of 2 tweeters and 4 30cm only. Think original specs in japan got 2 more subwoofer @ 3rd row n 1 small one at the dash. Am still looking around. Also considering if I should install tv antenna as tv mobile will be taken off air soon.

Unless you're willing to sacrifice the last row seats, sky's the limit for ICE setup.
For me, i find the boot space, with 3rd row seats fully extended, too narrow to install a sub. So this is my setup, 4ch amp under driver seat, active sub under front passenger seat.
plus thing is that the front doors come with tweeter holders, so hoot a good component speakers for the front.
Active sub cannot go low...but still good bass.

For new owners...
do you always accidently switch on the front seats heater?
Look into the owners manual and remove the fuse.
optima driving speed@rpm for best fuel efficiency on expressway
70kmh@1500rpm and 85kmh@1700-1800rpm
i get average 12km/l 60hwy/40local , but sometimes 8km/l if leave the engine on while waiting (1/2 hr+-).
go to any audio shop to have the kenwood HU bypass, so that the front passenger can watch DVD while you are driving.
to close the auto sliding door, instead of pulling the outside handle (which need abit of force). use the inside door lever. ( just a slight pull). My kids taught me that!!
